ARCADE FIRE ANNOUNCE IRELAND GIG


If you're dying to see Arcade Fire, it's time to purchase your tickets to Ireland for the Oxegen Festival July 8-11. Montreal band Arcade Fire has announced their first proper concert in two years, their last show being an appearance at Barack Obama's inauguration in January '09. The band is planning to release their third studio album in May, a follow up to the super-fantastic Neon Bible, which was released in 2007. The Oxegen Festival will also feature Eminem, Muse, Jay-Z, Vampire Weekend, Black Eyed Peas, Broken Social Scene, Kasabian and Hot Chip. > more

SPARKLEHORSE'S MARK LINKOUS DEAD


Singer/songwriter Mark Linkous, 47, took his own life this weekend. Linkous, known for his critically-acclaimed work with Sparklehorse, shot himself in the heart outside of a friend's house in Nashville, TN. The family released a statement: "It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear friend and family member, Mark Linkous, took his own life today,” reads a statement from his family. “We are thankful for his time with us and will hold him forever in our hearts.
